Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The assignment runs 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, with travel staffing as the primary focus.

This role requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to develop and implement patient care plans. The position offers a crisis-rate possibility, competitive pay, and benefits through Focus Staff, including health insurance coverage and 401K

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Respiratory Therapist.
• Current CPR or BCLS certification.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NALS, or NRP preferred.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patient and recommending a treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Performing timely and accurate documentation.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients and families.
