Job summary

Healthforce Healthcare LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) for a travel assignment in Templeton, CA. Start date is November 9, 2026, for 13 weeks, with 36 guaranteed hours per week and a 4x10-hour shift pattern.

You will provide perioperative nursing care and lead as the RNFA under the primary surgeon, coordinate care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases, and ensure infection control and proper handoffs within a 122-bed short term acute care facility.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• RNFA certification from an approved program.
• Minimum three years scrub and circulator experience in an acute care facility.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from an approved vendor.
• CNOR certification required; PALS preferred; EPIC experience.
• Current professional liability insurance (PLI).
• Ability to work rotating shifts with 6:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. starts, 4x10s.
• Must meet the assignment's credentialing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care and lead as RNFA under the surgeon.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases; coordinate with the surgical team.
• Maintain standards of nursing practice, documentation, and clear handoffs to the next care team.
• Ensure infection control, patient privacy, and teamwork within the perioperative services.
• Demonstrate professionalism and accountability within perioperative services.
