Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Vascular Stepdown/IMCU on a temporary traveler assignment. The unit handles vascular, telemetry, and transplant patients with a 24-bed capacity, offering opportunities to advance skills and PCCN certification through Sentara.

The role requires an active Virginia or compact license, 2+ years of acute care RN experience, BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale proficiency, and supports a 1:4 (sometimes 1:5) nurse-to-patient

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of recent acute care hospital RN experience.
• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale

Responsibilities

• Care for vascular surgery, telemetry and renal/pancreas transplant patients.
• RN to patient ratio on 9 Kaufman is 1:4, sometimes 1:5.
• Support PCCN certification through Sentara training.
• Provide high-quality care in a 24-bed stepdown IMCU.
• Learn and develop clinical skills across a diverse patient mix.
