Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Vascular Access/IV Therapy RN for a night shift in Portland, OR. Requires at least 2 years of vascular access experience and a valid RN license (Compact preferred).

The role includes a 3x12-hour night schedule (19:00–07:00), travel nursing background, Epic EMR proficiency, and patient education on access devices. Benefits include housing support, per diems and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact) or OR RN license in hand
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Experience with PICC lines, midline catheters and central access devices
• Ultrasound-guided venous access skills required
• Experience with vascular access device complications and management
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Work on the IV Therapy Vascular Access Team in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Night shift: 3×12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating between units required (may float to sister facilities)
• Night shift does not perform PICC placement
• Use Epic EMR for documentation
• Perform vascular access device insertion, management and troubleshooting
• Site and vessel selection and tip placement confirmation
• Patient and family education on vascular access devices
