Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down/IMU unit position requiring compact or VA licensure and prior specialty experience.

Night shift 3x12 or 4x12 hours, with floating to Intermediate and MedSurg units; 60-mile radius restricts applicants. BLS/ACLS and NIH certifications are required; Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Active compact or VA RN license in hand.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification also required.
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Step Down/IMU setting within a hospital.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00).
• Floating to Intermediate and MedSurg units with travelers floating first as needed.
• No first-time travelers accepted.
• Provide direct patient care within a step down/IMU unit.
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays.
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff.
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start.
• Scrub requirements: any color; professional appearance allowed.
• Nicotine-free campus.
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as traveler.
• Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius of the facility.
• Floating adheres to Joint Commission standards.

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIH certification also required
• Candidates with pending certifications may be considered
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
• BSN not required

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Floating required to Intermediate and MedSurg units, with travelers floating first as needed
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Provide direct patient care within a step down/intermediate care unit setting
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks
• Scrub requirements: any color, professional appearance, child-friendly prints and lab coats allowed
• Nicotine-free campus
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Floating adheres to Joint Commission standards, including appropriate orientation to the new unit
