American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac Progressive Step-Down Unit (CPSU) in Richmond, VA. The role requires telemetry experience and EKG interpretation on a night shift schedule.

You will work on a 25-bed Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio. Shift is nights 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 13 weeks, with a comprehensive pay package and benefits provided by American Traveler.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year telemetry/PCU nursing experience.
• Telemetry experience with EKG reading required.
• No gaps in work history >90 days in past 12 months.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac Progressive Step-Down Unit (CPSU) position requiring telemetry experience and EKG interpretation skills on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Work on a 25-bed Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit within a hospital setting


• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM


• 13-week assignment


• Patient ratio of 4:1


• Unit staffed with a Charge RN, RNs, Unit Secretary, and Techs per shift


• Uses EKG machines, Hoyer lifts, and LifePak equipment


• Meditech EMR system in use


• Low probability of floating to Med Surg units


• Weekend commitment of every 3rd Friday and Saturday (7p-7a) plus one additional Friday or Saturday each schedule


• Most cardiac procedures performed in the Cath Lab rather than on the unit

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required


• BLS and ACLS certifications required


• Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry/PCU nursing experience required


• Telemetry experience with EKG reading skills required


• Ability to manage a fast-paced unit with frequent admissions, discharges, transfers, and procedures


• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Sets priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions using strong problem-solving and clinical judgment


• Makes timely notifications to physicians regarding changes in patient condition


• Team player with a positive attitude preferred


• Navy scrub color required


• Holiday coverage needed for Halloween, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night


• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this travel position


• First-time travelers may be considered
