Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit in New Hampshire. This role requires ACLS certification and prior progressive or critical care nursing experience.

Work in a newly established 16-bed CVPCU within a Heart and Vascular Center, caring for complex cardiovascular patients with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Night shifts and scrubs per unit policy apply, with opportunities for professional growth in telemetry and critical care nursing.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) in hand.
• ACLS certification required.
• 2 years Progressive Care or Critical Care nursing experience required.
• Cardiology and cardiac surgery specialty experience required.
• Experience with continuous bedside monitoring (ECG, SpO2, BP, RR) required.
• Experience with arterial line and CVP invasive pressure monitoring.
• Temporary pacing (transvenous and epicardial) experience required.
• Vasopressor and inotrope infusion management experience required.
• Chest tube management, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV insertion experience required.
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience within last 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for complex cardiovascular medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients in CVPCU.
• Maintain 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio and provide advanced cardiovascular care.
• Utilize invasive monitoring, vasopressor/inotrope management, pacing, chest tube care, phlebotomy, and IVs.
• Support patients transitioning from critical care to step-down within a Heart and Vascular Center.
• Participate in rotating night shifts.
• Contribute to clinical growth for experienced telemetry and critical care nurses.

• Experience with inotrope infusion management (milrinone, dobutamine) required
• Experience with chest tube management, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV insertion required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Critical care experience highly preferred, not limited to cardiac ICU
• Charge RN and precepting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Care for complex cardiovascular medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients, including those transitioning from critical care or recovering from cardiovascular procedures
• 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Utilize continuous invasive pressure monitoring, vasopressor and inotrope infusion management, transvenous and epicardial temporary pacing, chest tube management, phlebotomy, and peripheral IV insertion
• Rotating and night shift schedule only
• Any color scrubs permitted per unit dress code, in accordance with facility dress code policy
• Provide advanced nursing care to a complex cardiovascular patient population bridging step-down and critical care levels
• Strengthen cardiovascular assessment, telemetry, and early recognition of patient deterioration skills
• Collaborative progressive care setting supporting clinical growth for experienced telemetry, cardiovascular, and critical care nurses
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
