Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Float Pool position in Arizona. The role requires ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and the ability to titrate cardiac drips across Telemetry, MedSurg, CV, and Neuro units.

Responsibilities include floating between two campuses, managing 12-hour night shifts, and meeting holiday/weekend requirements. A valid AZ or Compact RN license and 2+ years of RN experience are essential, along with a clean dysrhythmia/Sim Lab track record.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must be able to interpret EKGs and titrate cardiac drips.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer and prior to signing contract (2 attempts maximum).
• Must pass a Sim Lab competency test on day one of orientation.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, with employment dates and rehire eligibility.
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on a Tele Float Pool covering MedSurg, CV, and Neuro units.
• Floats between Telemetry, MedSurg, Cardiac Tele, ICU (based on skill level), and various holding areas including Cath Lab, ER, and observation floors.
• Floating may occur between two campuses located ~9 miles apart, with 1.5 hours notice before shift.
• Patient ratios 1:3-4 on Telemetry/Neuro and 1:4 on MedSurg units.
• Common patient populations include post cath lab, post vascular procedures, CABG, neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, post-TPA CVA, general surgical, oncology, and orthopedic cases.
• Must titrate cardiac drips including Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine.
• Uses centralized telemetry monitoring and GE monitors; Cerner EMR used for charting.
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a.
• Weekend requirements vary; 2 of 3 major holidays.
• First to float among staff.
• Provide direct patient care across Telemetry, CV, Neuro, and MedSurg units as part of a float pool team.
• Charge nurses/supervisors do not carry patient assignments; RT and Pharmacy support 24/7.
• Navy scrub color required; 2-day orientation provided.
• Must clock in/out when floating between campuses.
• Dysrhythmia or sterile technique testing failures may affect future eligibility.
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities in the past year.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
