Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift in the Observation Unit of a 328-bed medical center offering Level II trauma care. You will care for outpatients on observation status and work the 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shift, every other weekend, with no on-call requirements.

The role requires 2+ years of observation experience, an active MI RN license (no compact), and current BLS. Epic EMR experience is preferred; a strict outside-50-mile residency is required for

Qualifications

• Active MI RN license required (compact license not accepted).
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
• 2+ years of Observation experience required.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Skills checklist pertinent to Observation specialty, current within 1 year, required for consideration.
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Observation Unit within a 328-bed medical center offering Level II trauma care.
• Provides care for outpatients assigned to observation status.
• Uses Epic EMR system.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Assess, implement, and monitor patient care plans for observation patients.
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, and responding to alarms and call lights.
• Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with the care team to update plans as needed.
• Process and follow up on physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Navy blue scrub color required.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered.
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment.
