American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking a Travel RN for Telemetry in Lexington, Kentucky. This night shift role covers 12-hour shifts on a Neuro Telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Neuro Telemetry unit requiring active KY or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a 5A Neuro Telemetry unit
• 22-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
• Patient population includes acute stroke, neuro, and general medical floor patients
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Charge nurse present each shift and takes a patient assignment
• Nurse aides/patient care techs available with varying ratios
• Respiratory therapy manages BiPap and High Flow equipment; RN may troubleshoot only
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with RN required to review strips each shift
• Night shift schedule with self-scheduling subject to change for balanced coverage
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period
• Floating required, may be pulled to other floors
• No call or standby requirements

Requirements

• Active KY or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Active certifications must be current, pending certifications not accepted
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to stroke and neuro patients on a telemetry unit
• Review telemetry strips each shift as part of patient monitoring responsibilities
• 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for 2 summer holidays and 3 winter holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility within the past year
