Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN PCU for a 16-week assignment in Alexandria, VA. Start ASAP with 12-hour day shifts on a 36-hour workweek; travel status means the role is external to a single facility and offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated clinical team.

The Stepdown RN will monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; respond to abnormalities.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety for telemetry patients.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle changes.
