Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week travel assignment in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

As a Stepdown RN, you will monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care during the transition from ICU to medical-surgical units. Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s status.
• Responds to life-saving situations following cardiac emergencies and hospital protocols.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive telemetry patient care.
