Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking an RN for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit on a flexible travel contract in Forest Hills, NY. The RN Travel PACU role focuses on specialized nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of related nursing experience, NY RN license, BLS, and an ADN (BSN preferred). The position offers hourly pay from $52 to $125, with full-time scheduling.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of professional nursing experience in related specialty.
• Current NY State RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's physiologic health status.
• Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures.
• Assess GI, CV, respiratory, renal, and neuro health.
• Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses, and skin condition.
• Assess pain level and manage pain.
• Document patient health status and plan of care.
• Assess psychosocial health and patient expectations.
• Develop and implement the plan of care, prioritizing outcomes.
• Administer medications safely.
• Educate patients and families about care.
