Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of PACU experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient PACU unit including Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery
• Acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
• Cares for a well-rounded surgical population across cardiac, neuro, ortho, vascular, GI, GYN, ENT, plastics, urology, and thoracic cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic for charting
• Schedule is Monday through Friday with no weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years of PACU experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties preferred, including cardiovascular, neuro, ortho, vascular, GI, and plastics procedures
• Skilled in pre/post-operative patient care, pain management, and cardiac monitoring
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide recovery care for patients following a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Perform pre/post-operative assessments, medication administration, and patient education
• Monitor and manage patients under general, local, spinal, and nerve block anesthesia
• Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
• Free on-site parking available
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• RTO must be submitted at time of application with minimal flexibility post-offer
• Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• First-time travelers considered only with 3+ years of specialty experience
