American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for the Direct Observation Unit in Charleston, SC, with a 13-week assignment starting 01/05/2026. The night-shift, 12-hour blocks, offers 36 hours per week in a six-bay 23-hour observation unit.

The role requires BLS/ACLS, and SC or Compact RN license, with travel experience preferred. Epic EMR is used, and physicians, anesthesiologists, and OR nurses contribute to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of RN experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in surgical observation or fast-paced post-op environment preferred
• Travel nursing candidates outside 60-mile radius preferred for traveler rate

Responsibilities

• Work in a six-bay, 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center PACU
• Care for orthopedics, interventional radiology, and GI patients
• Night shift: three 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, Mon–Thu; no Fri/Sat/Sun
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:6
• Utilize Epic EMR and collaborate with surgeons and OR staff
• Travel and licensure reimbursements provided; RTO requires approval
