Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel assignment in Andalusia, AL. The role covers labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care, with a 13-week term and 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing standards.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor and delivery.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn assessment.
• Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and teams.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document care and interventions in the medical record.
• Support quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
