Job description

Position: CHS Travel RN / MSIC 5p-5a (Nights)

Position Information:

Scope of role: Candidates must be competent in managing care for patients with the highest levels of acuity, with a background in neuro/trauma.

Orientation: 1 week, starting with hospital-based learning classes (Cerner charting training, compliance training, and glucometer training). After classes, candidates will meet with unit educators, receive an orientation packet, and tour the unit. The remaining time on day 1 will be spent completing online training and the orientation packet. Days 2 and 3 will be spent on the unit during the designated shift, working with a preceptor RN to learn the unit flow. One day will be spent in MSIC (3rd floor trauma ICU) and one day in ICU4 (4th floor neuro ICU).

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Nights, 5 pm - 5 am

Bi-weekly hours: 72

RTO max: 6 days

Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH certification

Experience required: At least 3 years of ICU RN experience or more

Patient ratio: Typically 2:1; on some days, due to staffing or patient stability, a 3:1 ratio may occur on a rotating basis.

Required skills: Proficiency in caring for critically ill neuro and trauma patients.
