Job summary

American Traveler is actively seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Oncology unit in Illinois. The ideal candidate has at least three years of nursing experience and an active IL RN license, plus BLS certification.

The role involves a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts. No on-call duties, with some travel between Carle Health locations, and a 50+ mile residency requirement.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (IL RN license)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Strong patient care and safety procedure skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, and interventions
• Maintain accurate documentation to support continuity of care across the healthcare team
• Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
• Collaborate with peers to share knowledge and support professional development
• May float to other Carle Health hospital locations
• Work nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• No on-call requirements
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain longer than 1 year without a 6-month break
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
