Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift in Tennessee. Active compact or TN RN license required; Epic EMR experience; minimum 2 years of med/surg oncology nursing; current BLS, ACLS and NIHSS; ability to pass Epic competency; 3x12 night shift 18:45–07:15; willing to float to other Med Surg/Tele units.

Provide oncology and medical-surgical nursing care including chemotherapy monitoring, cardiac/respiratory/neurological/renal care, and support rapid response

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TN or compact state; required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Epic experience within last 18 months documented on profile.
• Must pass Epic competency exam on first attempt.
• Two supervisory references required.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line care required.
• Chemotherapy monitoring/administration preferred.
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry preferred.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care preferred.
• Wound care, isolation precautions/PPE.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit.
• 1:5 patient ratio.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15).
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Must be willing to float to other Med Surg/Tele units.
• Provide oncology and medical-surgical nursing care including chemotherapy monitoring and administration.
• Manage patients requiring cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal care.
• Support rapid response and code team activations as needed.
• Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven.
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests will be accommodated.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; additional RTO will not be approved afterward.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
• Return travelers must confirm staffing approval status prior to consideration.
