Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology unit in Baltimore with oncology background and strong telemetry experience.

The role requires active RN license (MD/Compact), BLS, and 2+ years Med/Surg experience with oncology and telemetry. Epic EMR experience is required; chemo certification preferred. Travel assignments and a 500+ bed facility background are noted as favorable.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required
• Oncology experience/background required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Experience with central lines, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and cardiac/oxygen monitoring
• Prior experience at a 500+ bed facility
• 1-2 travel assignments required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Chemo certification preferred
• Alaris pump experience preferred
• IMC experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Acute care oncology Med/Surg unit caring for adult leukemia and benign hematology patients
• Night shift 12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patients require central line management, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, cardiac monitoring, and supplemental oxygen
• Chemotherapy is administered on the unit, though travel RNs are not required to give it
• Orientation occurs on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide acute care nursing support to adult oncology patients with leukemia and benign hematologic conditions
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Strong candidates are preferred given the high acuity and prestige of this facility
