Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment on a busy Surgical Acute unit in Peoria, IL. An active IL RN license and at least 1 year of post-op and acute care experience are required, with BLS certification.

The unit handles post-op surgical and trauma cases with 4-5 patients on days and 5-6 on nights, using EPIC EMR. This traveler role includes housing and licensure reimbursement support, with travel-ready benefits.

Qualifications

Active IL RN license required.
BLS certification (AHA) required.
Minimum 1 year of experience required.
Strong critical thinking skills and post-op patient care experience required.

Responsibilities

Surgical Acute unit in an acute care hospital setting with 63 beds (49 private, 9 observation).
Post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical care; includes wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN cases.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4-5:1 days and 5-6:1 nights; may adjust to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights.
Uses EPIC EMR for charting.
12-hour night shifts from 1930-0730; every other weekend and rotating holidays.
