Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is recruiting an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in California. The role requires CA RN licensure, BLS/NIHSS, and 2–3 years of Med/Surg experience, with floating to Summit or Herrick campuses as needed.

Expect a 7:00 AM–7:30 PM schedule, no on-call, and inter-campus shuttle support. Strong clinical skills in IV, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and rapid response are essential for success in this travel assignment.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience; 3 years preferred.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management required.
• Respiratory care skills: BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, tracheostomy, oxygen administration.
• Wound care, isolation precautions, PPE experience required.
• Cardiac monitoring and rapid response leadership experience.
• Experience with CVA, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury.
• Ortho trauma, joint replacement, dialysis management experience.
• Familiarity with 5150 holds and alcohol withdrawal management.
• Two supervisor references within past year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the patient's primary RN from admission to discharge.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop care plans with the team.
• Administer treatments and medications; monitor acuity and emergencies.
• Coordinate care between nursing and medical staff.
• Complete labs within 3–5 days of contract signing.
