Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on a Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology Cellular Therapies unit in Colorado. Requires 2 years acute care BMT/Heme experience and CO or Compact RN license, with nights 3x12s and floating between units.

You’ll care for patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, cellular therapies, and CAR-T, using Epic charting, with RN staffing ratios of 3-4:1 and no on-call.

Qualifications

• Active CO or Compact RN license required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• ONC certification required (Chemo cert through ONS/ONCC).
• Minimum 2 years acute care BMT/Heme experience and chemotherapy administration experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with flexible staffing ratios required.
• Skilled in oncologic emergencies, IV therapy/infusions, central line care, blood product administration, and chemotherapy administration and monitoring.
• Experience caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood dyscrasias.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a BMT/Oncology Cellular Therapies unit.
• Manage oncologic emergencies and chemotherapy-related care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure patient safety.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a BMT/Oncology Cellular Therapies unit requiring 2 years of acute care BMT/Heme experience and a CO or Compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient 51-bed unit caring for patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies such as stem cell transplants and CAR-T
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, various days of the week including weekends per unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 3-4:1, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating required between BMT/Onc and CTU units, and possibly to sister facilities within the metro region
• No on-call requirements
• Navy scrub color required

• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Experience caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood dyscrasias
• Experience with bone marrow transplant care; CAR-T and stem cell therapy experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for individuals undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and cellular therapies including stem cell transplants and CAR-T
• Manage oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
• Monitor and manage treatment-related symptoms including nausea, neuropathy, altered mental status, and edema
• Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Maximum 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting time off during certain weeks
• First-time travelers not accepted for this position
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates within the last two years are not eligible for consideration
