Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks a travel nurse RN for a Long Term Acute Care assignment in West Orange, New Jersey. This LTAC travel role runs for 13 weeks, with a 36-hour work week and twelve-hour night shifts.

Immediate opening with a focus on high-acuity patient care and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of LTAC experience, current BLS and ACLS, and state licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• RN with LTAC experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• State licensure eligibility; additional certifications may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer IV medications and manage central lines
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and wound management
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians and case managers
• Support mobility, hygiene and nutrition needs
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status
• Document care activities accurately and in real time
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge planning
