Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Newark, Ohio. This LTAC RN role requires at least 1 year of LTAC or high-acuity experience, a current BLS certification, and eligibility for State licensure. The assignment runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

A strong candidate will possess LTAC background, critical-care skills, and adaptability to support patient recovery and discharge planning in a fast-paced LTAC setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as an RN in Long-Term Acute Care or similar high-acuity setting.
• Current BLS certification required; eligible for State licensure; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, monitor vital signs and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and advanced wound management.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers for treatment plans.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and nutrition; supervise LPNs and CNAs.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards; participate in rounds.
• Document care activities in real time and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
