Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 14-week travel assignment in Joplin, MO. You will provide comprehensive obstetric care, monitor mother and fetus, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe deliveries.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience as Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (preferred)
• STABLE and ACLS certifications (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care including mother and newborn assessment and stabilization
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and the care team
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document all care in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines for obstetric care
• Perform other duties as assigned within labor and delivery nursing
