Job summary

Magnet Medical is seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Salem, VA. You will work days (3x12 hours) and provide comprehensive obstetric care from labor through the immediate postpartum period under the supervision of obstetricians and anesthesiologists.

The role requires monitoring, medication administration, delivery assistance, neonatal care, postpartum education, and detailed documentation in the EHR. Start date ASAP; competitive weekly pay.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor laboring patients, including vital signs and fetal well-being.
• Administer medications and pain relief as prescribed, including epidurals and Pitocin.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, providing instruments and support.
• Provide newborn care and immediate neonatal assessment after birth.
• Support postpartum recovery and breastfeeding education for new families.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR.
