Job summary

TravelNurseSource is seeking a Labor/Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, IA (50309). The role includes night shifts (3 days x 12 hours) with a weekly pay of $2,440, supporting pre-labor, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Work closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and ensure patient safety and education throughout the childbirth continuum.

Qualifications

• Required on onboarding: BLS certification.
• Competency exam must be completed before onboarding.
• L&D experience or knowledge relevant to Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment, including health histories and vital signs.
• Monitor labor progression and fetal wellbeing; manage pain relief and epidurals as prescribed.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections; provide newborn care.
• Postpartum monitoring and breastfeeding support; patient education on recovery and newborn care.
• Accurate documentation in the EHR and communication with the care team.
• Infection control and safety for labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies per protocols and collaborate with the team.
