Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is actively seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Newport, VT. The role requires state RN licensure, BLS and NRP certifications, and one year of L&D experience. You will deliver comprehensive obstetric care, monitor fetal health, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP Certification required

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families; provide reassurance
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and exams
• Provide immediate postpartum care; assess and stabilize mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Document care and interventions in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards and hospital policies
• Perform other duties within labor and delivery scope
