Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Interventional RN for a Cath Lab/Operating Room role in Morristown, NJ. Requires 2+ years of critical care and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Perioperative experience and PAT knowledge are preferred; BLS/ACLS are mandatory, with a focus on patient education and safe transfer techniques. The role includes AM shifts (7a-8p, 3 days/week for 36 hours), on-call duties, and potential floating to a nearby sister hospital.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience.
• Experience with patient education, safe transfer techniques, and proper body mechanics.
• Perioperative team experience and PAT knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit with focus on interventional radiology and cath lab procedures
• Perioperative and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) responsibilities included
• AM shift schedule, 7a-8p, 3 days per week for 36 hours
• On-call required as needed
• Floating to a sister hospital nearby may be required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Provide direct patient care across the perioperative continuum, including pre-op and post-op assessment and education
• Perform thorough, systematic patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with nursing process standards
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier practices
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia types, and related equipment
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date before requiring a break
