Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an MICU RN for night and every-other-weekend shifts at a Level III Trauma Center. The role requires 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and telemetry competency, with active Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certification.

Your responsibilities include caring for adult patients in a 20-bed MICU, with 24/7 attending and resident coverage, EPIC EMR charting, and floating to Med/Surg as needed. Local candidates within 60 miles receive the local rate.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses).
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably MICU.
• Telemetry competency, including ability to read telemetry strips.
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients in a 20-bed MICU within a Level III Trauma Center.
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day.
• Night shift 19:00-07:30 with every-other-weekend requirement.
• 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule options available.
• Floating to Medical/Surgical units as needed.
• RN-to-patient ratio 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity patients; 1:4-1:5 on Med/Surg.
• EPIC EMR charting; provide direct patient care in high-acuity ICU.

Requirements

• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU
• Telemetry competency required, including ability to read telemetry strips
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Responsibilities

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center
• Cares for adult patients with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every-other-weekend requirement
• 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule options available
• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
• EPIC EMR system used for charting
• Provide direct patient care within a high-acuity ICU setting alongside attendings and residents
• Free on-site parking available
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for the local candidate rate
