Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery/Postpartum on a Level 3 Trauma campus in North Carolina. Requires 2+ years LDRP experience and NRP/EFM certification. Active RN license in NC or compact, BLS/ACLS/NRP/EFM current, EPIC EMR experience, and references from recent supervisors are required.

Travel assignment with weekend rotations and no on-call duties. Responsibilities include 60-65 deliveries per month, 1:1-2 RN-to-patient ratio, and floating within Region 1

Qualifications

• Active RN license, NC or compact, required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously in a permanent position there

Responsibilities

• 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms with an average daily census of 9-10 patients
• High risk antepartum, active labor, triage, and immediate postpartum patient population including preeclampsia and other hypertension disorders of pregnancy
• 60-65 deliveries per month
• RN to laboring patient ratio of 1:1-2
• EPIC EMR used
• Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, and unit-specific equipment including Monica Novii and Neptune
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week on a 4-week schedule cycle
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Floating required within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH peds only) as needed within scope of practice
• Support team includes a unit secretary, scrub tech, OB mentor, 24/7 charge nurse, in-house phlebotomy and IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, intensivist, OB physicians, and anesthesia/CRNA team
• Orientation includes facility-wide NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with contract hours to be made up at the end if not met
• Hospital-provided green OR scrubs required
• Unit culture described as hardworking with strong team collaboration
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel assignment
