Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in Illinois. The role requires an IL RN license and at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

This outpatient setting features day shifts with four 9-hour shifts per week, no weekends or holidays, and no on-call requirements. Benefits include housing allowance and licensure/reimbursement support.

Qualifications

  • Active IL RN license required.
  • BLS certification (AHA) required.
  • ACLS certification (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.
  • ASN required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an outpatient endoscopy center performing routine GI procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.
  • Float between the Endoscopy Center and Digestive Health Department.
  • Day shift with rotating start times between 0630 and 0830.
  • Schedule consists of four 9-hour shifts per week with a rotating day off.
  • No weekend or holiday shift requirements.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Provide direct patient care throughout endoscopy prep, intra-procedure, and recovery phases.
  • Administer moderate sedation under physician direction.
  • Assist the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement.
  • Complete patient assessments, review health history, and initiate IVs prior to procedures.
  • Deliver patient education and manage phase 1 and phase 2 recovery care.
  • Collaborate with unit staff and delegate to unlicensed personnel as appropriate.
  • Report and correct safety hazards and incidents as needed.
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted.
  • RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract.
