Job summary
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP assignment in Des Moines, IA. You will work 4x10 hour days in a hospital setting, with 40 hours per week and on-site responsibilities across Des Moines campuses.
Active IA or compact RN license, BLS, ARRT, RCIS preferred, and at least 24 months Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab experience. Travel experience in last 18 months, scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and trauma experience highly valued.

- Active ARRT certification required
- RCIS certification preferred
- Minimum 24 months Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Travel experience within past 18 months required
- Scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred
- EP, Interventional Radiology, and peripheral vascular experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring duties in Cath Lab/EP setting
- Float across Des Moines campuses as needed
- Willingness to take on-call.
- Holiday coverage: 1 night/ week and every 3rd weekend when required
- Adhere to credentialing and facility policies; maintain Epic EMR documentation

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an active IA or compact RN license and a minimum of 24 months of current Cath Lab experience.
- Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab setting within a hospital system with multiple Des Moines campuses
- Days shift: 4x10s, 7a-530p, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/week with a random day off (blocked scheduling not guaranteed)
- Holiday rotation includes 1 night/week and every 3rd weekend (7:30p Friday through 7a Monday)
- On-call responsibilities required, including assigned cases on rare occasions
- Required to float across all Des Moines campuses to like units
- EMR: Epic
- Active RN license, IA or compact required
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Active ARRT certification required
- RCIS certification preferred
- Minimum 24 months of current Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
- Travel experience within the previous 18 months required
- Scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Structural heart experience highly preferred
- Interventional Radiology experience preferred
- EP experience preferred
- Peripheral vascular experience preferred
- Skills checklist specific to Cath Lab/Cardiac Cath Lab required
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Perform scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring duties within the Cath Lab/EP setting
- Willingness to take call required
- Holiday coverage required: contractors must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Winter holiday coverage requires working 2 of 3 (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
- Limited time-off requests allowed during peak holiday periods (Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's weeks)
- Candidates previously employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration
- Local candidates and radius rules vary by hospital campus
