Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Registered Nurse Case Manager for a Specialty Surgery service line in Alaska. Active Alaska RN license and at least one year of nursing experience are required. BLS is required; Case Management certification is preferred.

Ambulatory outpatient setting with Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00 schedule. Assignment spans 13 weeks with 40 hours per week; lodging and transportation are not provided.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska required at time of submittal.
• BLS certification required.
• Case Management certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.
• Administers medications and treatments per provider orders and policy.
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, referrals, and follow-up services.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Advocates for patients and helps them navigate the healthcare system.
• Provides culturally responsive, patient-centered care and education.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement activities.
