Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for Utilization Review/Care Management at the Menino Campus in Boston. Must have MA RN license and BSN, with 3+ years in case management and knowledge of InterQual and acute inpatient care.

Shifts are 4x10 hours in the AM, with every 6th weekend required and no major holiday coverage. Candidates within 50 miles are preferred; the role requires flexibility to float per unit needs and a collaborative approach to care management.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration.
• BSN required.
• 3+ years of case management experience with extensive background in current multi-system patterns of practice and acute inpatient care.
• Knowledge of methods for assessing physical and mental impairment and understanding illness characteristics and expected treatment.
• Knowledge of benefits, plan contracts, eligibility issues, and requirements.
• 5+ years of UM and CM experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• CCM or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care Management department at the Menino Campus.
• Manages a caseload of 18-22 patients.
• Utilizes InterQual screening and Medicare inpatient lists to determine medical necessity and appropriateness of admissions.
• 4x10-hour AM shift schedule with no set day off.
• Every 6th weekend required as needed.
• No major holiday coverage required.
• Must be willing to float as needed per unit needs.
• Utilize a collaborative process to assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate services required to meet patient health needs.
• Manage length of stay and promote efficient, cost-effective utilization of resources.
• Two professional references required, including one at the manager level with a performance evaluation completed within the past 12 months.
• References cannot be provided by another traveler.
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted.
