Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring an active CA RN license and 2 years of cardiac/telemetry experience. The role is in a hospital setting with a 1:4 patient ratio and a night shift schedule.

Epic charting will be used for documentation and care coordination. Local candidates within 50 miles qualify for local rate; travel and housing benefits are offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac/telemetry nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration.
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, and TAVR care.
• Experience with wound care, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct patient care to cardiac and telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response.
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration.
• Holiday coverage required for one holiday per contract among New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying.
