Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Acute Dialysis RN for a hospital dialysis unit on day shift. The role requires Tablo device experience and active Texas RN licensure, with familiarity in AV fistula care and dialysis equipment operation.

This travel assignment offers a high-pay structure with housing allowances, benefits from day one, and per diem, with duties including charting in Epic, managing access, and responding to treatment-related complications.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience required.
• Experience with Tablo dialysis devices required.
• Experience with Baxter, Fresenius J/K, Gambro, and Prismaflex dialysis equipment.
• Ability to cannulate AV graft and AV fistula.
• Skilled in tunneled and non-tunneled catheter care.
• Proficient in dialysis machine alarm troubleshooting procedures.
• Experience administering blood and blood products.
• Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Skilled in symptom management for dialysis-related complications such as fluid overload, hypotension, and cardiac arrest.

Responsibilities

• Work in the hospital's Dialysis unit.
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), start times varying between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
• Call responsibilities required.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Provide dialysis treatment initiation, setup, and post-treatment care including access care and sterilization procedures.
• Monitor and manage complications during treatment such as clotted access, hemolysis, and hyperkalemia.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
• Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation.
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position.
