American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift hospital position.

The role requires 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:00), floating within scope, and Epic EMR experience with a test-out option. Responsibilities include administering medical gas therapy, chart review, and collaborating with clinical teams to implement respiratory care plans.

Qualifications

• Must hold RRT credentialed by NBRC.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Associate's Degree from an accredited college is required.
• Maryland state license or compact license if applicable, must be in-hand.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Maryland state license or compact license required if applicable, must be in-hand
• Ability to meet medium lifting physical demands

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Floating within scope required
• Epic EMR experience required, with a test-out option available
• Administer medical gas therapy and evaluate therapy effectiveness per department standards
• Collaborate with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists to implement respiratory care plans
• Review patient charts including orders, lab values, and chest x-rays, and document care accurately
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment safely and sanitarily
• Monitor patients during therapy for adverse reactions and respond per department policy
• Exposure to blood-borne pathogens is expected in this role
• No more than 10 days of RTO per 13-week contract, preferably added to the end of the contract if more than one week is needed
• No RTO preferred during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• No mile radius rule in place
• One reference required for consideration
• Returning staff must wait 6 months before returning as a traveler, with case-by-case review possible within 1 year
