Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. The assignment is 52 weeks, 36 hours per week (3x12s), with nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and every other weekend/holiday as required.

Requirements include RRT and BLS, Epic EMR experience, 4+ years of experience (2+ considered), and VA license or eligible for temporary license.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience required; candidates with 2+ years will be considered.
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required
• Copies of all required certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services including ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene for critically ill adult patients
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Administer aerosolized medications and manage oxygen delivery devices
• Participate in chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Work as part of a critical care respiratory team within a teaching hospital environment
• Floating within scope of practice as needed
