Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Springfield, MA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment. The role requires 1 year of recent acute care experience, BLS and ACLS, and a 36-hour workweek with 12-hour night shifts.

You will provide direct patient care and operate respiratory equipment, collaborating with nurses and physicians to ensure optimal patient care. Travel clinicians receive weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and benefits through TotalMed Allied, with potential stipends for travel

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
• NBRC certification and ongoing competence in respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintain patient records and documentation.
• Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain equipment; report malfunctions.
• Perform arterial puncture and sample analysis per guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and other hospital staff to optimize care.
• Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.
