Job summary

TotalMed RN in Clive, IA is seeking a travel nurse to join our Rehabilitation unit. This RN will provide specialized care to patients recovering from illnesses, injuries, or surgeries in a hospital setting, working with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of rehabilitation experience and current BLS certification, with licensure eligibility in the state. Duties include care planning, assessments, medication administration, education, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience in a rehabilitation setting.
• Current BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required.
• Must be eligible for state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients with rehabilitation needs (neurological, orthopedic, etc.).
• Collaborate with physicians and rehab team to develop care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, neurological function, and progress.
• Administer medications and assist with pain management.
• Educate patients and families about recovery goals and safety.
• Respond to medical emergencies and stabilize patients as needed.
• Document assessments, treatments, and progress in the EHR.
• Assist with discharge planning and home-care preparation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to tailor care to patient needs.
