Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position in South Hill, Virginia. The assignment runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, 3×12-hour nights, and requires Epic EMR experience and at least 3 years of respiratory therapy experience.

Openings: 2. Active RRT/CRT with Virginia or compact license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, travel experience, and Epic charting are required. NICU, ED and ARDS care included. More details upon interview.

Qualifications

• Active RRT or CRT credential with license if required
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• VA state license or compact license in hand at submission
• BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Graduated from an accredited respiratory therapy program (ACEN or CCNE)

Responsibilities

• Night shift: 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Care for adult critical care, ED, NICU as assigned
• Manage airways including intubation assistance and suctioning
• Ventilator management: BiPAP/CPAP and high‑pressure alarm troubleshooting
• Administer medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizers
• Epic charting is required
• Float within scope as needed
• Call requirements discussed during interview
