American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatric Critical Care travel assignment in Washington, DC. This role requires RRT licensure, 2+ years of experience, and BLS/PALS certification. Begin Nov 2, 2026 for 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, night shifts.

You'll float between NICU, PICU, and CICU, perform neonatal transports, and work night 12-hour shifts. Cerner charting experience is preferred.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatric Critical Care position requiring RRT licensure and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Pediatric hospital setting within the NICU unit
• Floats between NICU, PICU, and CICU across all patient ages
• Performs neonatal transports (inter-departmental)
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• RRT license required
• DC state license required (license required if applicable)
• MD/VA compact or state license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• NRP certification preferred
• Experience with NICU and pediatric critical care equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and high frequency jet ventilator preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and airway suctioning
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, RSV, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Experience with medication delivery systems and administration of respiratory medications

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care and neuro diagnostics services to neonatal and pediatric critical care patients
• Participate in neonatal inter-departmental transports
• Complete pre-start training modules prior to orientation
• First-time travelers not required to have prior travel experience
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction
• Maximum of 1 week RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed after accepting the offer
