Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel stepdown assignment in Helena, MT. The 13-week gig starts 11/15/2026 with guaranteed 36 hours per week and shifts of 12-hour nights. Epic EMR is used for charting, and excellent float flexibility is expected across stepdown/ICU units.

Applicants must have an active RN license, 2+ years of stepdown experience, BLS/ACLS, and the ability to learn Epic quickly. Housing assistance and extension opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state required).
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience; prior travel experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Epic EMR experience or ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to float to multiple units as needed; strong communication and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the stepdown environment, including ongoing assessment, monitoring of vitals, and timely response to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and assist with procedures per physician orders and care plans.
• Monitor hemodynamics and respiratory status; provide appropriate interventions and elevate as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR; ensure charting reflects current patient status and care provided.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during rounds and care planning; participate in discharge planning and family communication.
• Float between medical/surgical units and stepdown/ICU as required; uphold patient safety, infection control, and quality standards.
