Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift at MercyOne Newton Medical Center, IA. This FirstChoice staffing opportunity offers premium compensation and flexible scheduling across hospital locations and regions.

RNs must hold an accredited nursing degree with an active license in the applicable state and meet specialty credential requirements. Travel, per diem, and ongoing learning opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Minimum 18 months of Med Surg/Tele/PCU experience; 2+ years for other specialties.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials per specialty required through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Float throughout hospital and multiple locations/regions as needed.
• Perform nursing care using standard practice elements: assess, plan, implement, evaluate.
• Act independently within license and scope; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Demonstrate accountability and contribute to quality and safety improvements.
• Embrace new ideas and manage competing priorities while adapting to changes.

What you will do:

• Qualified and willing to float throughout the hospital and/or throughout multiple hospital locations and/or regions
• Knows, understands, incorporates & demonstrates standard elements of professional practice: Assess, Outcomes Identification / Solutions, Plan, Implement, Evaluate
• Acts independently & appropriately within license, scope of knowledge & experience in practice area
• Retains accountability for delegation, choices, decisions & outcomes
• Collaborates with key stakeholders & contributes to quality & improvement practices & outcomes
• Exhibits agility & willingness to take on new & additional responsibilities
• Embraces new ideas & cultural differences while managing competing priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice/employment.
• Minimum of eighteen (18) months of recent clinical experience for Med Surg, Tele and PCU.
• Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical experience for all remaining specialties including Critical Care, Surgical Services, Maternal Services, Emergency Department and Behavioral Health.
• Required to have and maintain the credentials required per their specialty area (ex: ACLS, TNCC, etc). BLS, ACLS and PALS must be obtained through American Heart Association
