The Position

A certified medication aide is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) responsible for administering daily medication to patients in a hospital or medical facility. Also referred to as medical aide technicians, their duties include monitoring patients, reporting changes, and collecting samples. The ideal medication aide will be extremely detail-oriented and possess in-depth knowledge of patient care procedures. Providing excellent patient care is a vital part of this job, which is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing services to patients while traveling to different medical facilities as part of hospice care.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient conditions according to facility protocols.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare teams and document accurately.
Qualifications
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or CNA with relevant nursing experience in hospice or medical facility settings.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong knowledge of patient care procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
