Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Operating Room travel assignment in Salida, Colorado. The role involves circulating or scrub duties, preparing the OR, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Shifts are four 10-hour shifts with equitable call rotation, guaranteed 40 hours per week, for a 12-week contract starting 10/05/2026. Travel assignment with on-site orientation and ongoing clinical support is provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or a compact state.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS/PEARS current.
• Perioperative nursing or OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care as circulating or scrub nurse.
• Prepare OR, assemble instruments and supplies, assist surgical team.
• Monitor intraoperative patient status and assist with positioning and anesthesia support.
• Document intraoperative events and communicate with the team.
• Maintain room turnover and ensure equipment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures as a circulating or scrub role, adhering to sterile technique and safety standards
• Prepare the OR, assemble instruments and supplies, and assist the surgical team with equipment setup and instrument counts
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, assist with positioning, anesthesia support, and immediate post-procedure care as appropriate
• Document intraoperative events, patient responses, and post-anesthesia care instructions; communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff
• Maintain room turnover efficiency, ensure equipment readiness, and uphold regulatory and facility policies throughout each case

Requirements

• Active RN license in Colorado or a compact state
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS or PEARS certification
• Ability to work in an operating room environment and participate in a surgical team
