Expect 40 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts (four days) and variable call. OR experience and a travel RN background are encouraged; Epic EMR experience is preferred to document and coordinate intraoperative care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Montana.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification; PALS preferred.
• Epic EMR experience required for documentation.
• Prior travel nursing experience is encouraged.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced OR with a variable call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for OR cases across multiple specialties.
• Maintain sterile technique, handle equipment and instruments, perform counts.
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and administer directed medications.
• Document intraoperative events in Epic and coordinate with surgical team.
• Prepare OR, assist with positioning and postoperative care as needed.
• Be available for Christmas Day coverage per assignment scheduling.

Overview

Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) in Helena, Montana. Start date 11/01/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Earn $2,210–$2,280 per week with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift will be 10-hour Day shifts, four days per week (10x4) with variable call. The role involves perioperative nursing across multiple specialties in a hospital setting. Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for operating room cases across multiple specialties, including ortho, total joints, fractures, gynecology, robotic-assisted procedures, urology, general, ENT, and spine
• Assist surgical teams by maintaining sterile technique, handling equipment and instruments, performing surgical counts, and promoting patient safety throughout procedures
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, respond to changes in vitals, and administer medications as directed within scope of practice
• Document intraoperative events and care in the electronic medical record (Epic) and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and circulating staff to ensure efficient case flow
• Prepare the OR suite, assist with positioning and patient care before and after procedures, and participate in postoperative patient care as needed
• Must be available for Christmas Day coverage and adhere to assignment-specific scheduling constraints (no block scheduling)

Requirements

• Active RN license ( Montana) or eligibility to obtain Montana licensure
• 2+ years of OR nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Epic EMR experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment and handle a variable call schedule
