Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing procedures, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Monitor patient status across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases; administer medications as ordered and maintain sterile technique and environment.
• Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at varying levels during cases, and coordinate care with anesthesia, surgeons, and other disciplines.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent discretion to ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality outcomes.
• Document care, routines, and patient responses accurately; communicate clearly with the care team and families as appropriate.
• Respond promptly to intraoperative changes or emergencies and participate in post-operative care planning and rehabilitation planning as needed.
